Berserk: Will the Lost Children Chapter, Conviction Arc Get an Anime Remake?

The Berserk countdown has begun! On October 1, 2022, the official website for the currently streaming Berserk: The Golden Arc – Memorial Edition anime launched a mysterious timer that ends on December 11, 2022.

You can see the countdown here.

Berserk fans have already started speculating what this new Berserk project could be. Since the countdown ends on the day of Berserk Memorial Edition episode 11, which is the final episode, it makes sense that this is an announcement of where the story will go next.

This could be Season 3 of the Berserk anime, which continues the Millennium Falcon arc. A more direct continuation of the Memorial Edition project would be a remake of the Berserk Conviction Arc.

Few Berserk fans were satisfied with the CGI anime Berserk 2016 and would like to see a remake/reboot of Berserk using the same high quality animation featured in Berserk: Memorial Edition.

Others want a proper adaptation of Guardians of Desire (from the Black Swordsman arc) and the Lost Children chapter (which was released with Berserk 2016) from the beginning of the Conviction arc.

Another possibility is the Berserk movie or trilogy.

What many Berserk fans are hoping for is an adaptation without the distraction of CGI. They also want to watch Berserk uncensored. If you don’t feel some sort of trauma after watching Berserker…really, what’s the point?

What are the key points of the Berserk Conviction arc?

Key points of the arc of beliefs include:

  • Guts fights Rosina, the Apostle of the Misty Village, who kidnapped children from the village and turned them into elf-like creatures.
  • The Knights of the Sacred Iron Chain hold Guts by a prophetic warrant for his detention by the Holy See.
  • Guts fights Farnese, an inexperienced commander of the Knights of the Holy Iron Chain, but is unable to defeat her when his servant Serpico intervenes.
  • Guts reunites with Casca 2 years later
  • Guts’ “demon child” warns him that Casca is in danger of being burned at the stake as a witch.
  • The Skull Knight warns that “he who has the Falcon in mind will return.”
  • Guts fights Mozgus, a pseudo-apostle inquisitor of the Holy See.
  • Femto transforms into Griffith and reunites with Zodd

What is the plot of the missing chapter of “Lost Children”?

One day during Guts’ journey with Puck, they meet a group of bandits in the forest who are holding a girl named Jill captive. As Guts sets out to kill the thugs, they eventually flee when the demon tree comes to life. Guts is forced to fight the strange tree until dawn.

Afterwards, Jill decides to accompany Guts back to his village, where he and Puck discover that the village is suffering from a series of child abductions by elves, believed to be from Misty Valley. The Sign of Guts begins to bleed, and suddenly a group of elves, led by the leader Apostle Rosina, attack the village.

Guts fights Rosina and kills some of the “elves”, but during the fight, Puck informs him that the “elves” are actually kidnapped children who have been transformed. Rosina and her elves retreat, and the villagers blame Guts for the chaos they left behind, including the charred bodies of the children in the barn.

After the murder, the “elves” returned to their old forms. Guts decides to use Jill as a hostage so he can escape the village and free her when they are a safe distance away. Guts then decides to confront Rosina.

How is his last fight going? You’ll have to wait for the new anime adaptation to find out!
