Ecoplanet | Drought in the Alps of Haute-Provence: Buech and Calavon in crisis, Bleone, Sasse and Verdon in a state of alarm

In 49 municipalities of the Alpes Haute-Provence, municipal decrees are in force that limit the use of water. In the Larg River Basin, crop irrigation restrictions are increasing. The Bleone, Sasse and Vanson watersheds are under drought warning, as are Durance, Jabron, Var and Verdon.
The catchments of Buecha and Calavon are experiencing a drought crisis, joining the Asse, Colostra, Large, Lauzon and Nesquet. In the Larg and Lauzon basins, which are already at drought crisis level since July 29, crop irrigation restrictions are now extended to the SIIRF perimeter.
Artuby-Jabron has been placed on heightened drought warning. The rest of the department is under drought warning.

The weather conditions do predict a rapid deterioration due to the lack of rain and very high heat predicted.
The prefect reminds that the management of water resources and the necessary saving of water in this period of very intense drought should be the business of everyone: farmers, industrialists, individuals or communities.

All relevant regulations can be consulted in all town halls, on the public services website in the actualite/secheresse section and in the Office of the Department of Territories of the Haute-Provence Alpes.
